Bingo has been entertaining groups of people and providing the basis for social encounters for longer than anyone can remember. No one is quite sure where it came from or how long it has been around, but it is obvious that this game has been steadily gaining popularity for a long time. That has become more true than ever with the rise of online bingo, which generates a total of nearly a billion dollars across the globe each year. People who used to seek out bingo halls for a relaxing social experience are now turning to online venues and chat rooms for some fun and conversation. \”Online bingo – why so popular?\” you ask. Well, let\’s take a look together at some of the reasons for online bingo\’s growing popularity.

First of all, what is this game?

Bingo players start with a ticket that has a collection of numbers, between one and a hundred. Up the front of the room is a large barrel or sack filled with numbered balls. These contain all of the numbers up to 100 and are all jumbled up together. One of these balls is selected at a time, and the number on it is read out. The players all check their tickets, and if they have that number written on their ticket, they mark it off with a special pen called a \”dabber\” or a \”dauber.\” The aim is to get five numbers all in a line, then say \”Bingo!\” or something similar to make yourself head. The first person to do this is the winner of that game. Technology has meant that instead of balls, bingo halls can use what\’s known as a Random Number Generator, which is a small electronic device that comes up with the numbers. The online games are completely virtual.

Why play bingo online?

Being online means that bingo is accessible twenty fours a day, seven days a week. Players don\’t have to wait till bingo day rolls around, or cut precious time out of their day traveling to and from the bingo hall. This can be very important for people whose busy time schedules barely leave room for family, let alone the peaceful relaxation of a game of bingo. Of course there are those who are less extroverted and prefer to interact as they choose within the medium of the chat room. Others just like having the comfort of being in their own home, their own space.

Public smoking bans in more and more countries across the world have encouraged the growth of online participation in bingo, as most bingo players smoke regularly.

What are some benefits of playing online?

For starters there are literally hundreds of websites out there to choose from, so you are almost guaranteed to find a site that you like. Also, the chat rooms on these web sites pose a fantastic opportunity to meet people from all over the world. Most players are from the UK, or from the US, Canada and Sweden. However, you might meet someone from Australia, Europe or Asia, or somewhere else too.

Now you can participate in super free bingo games, at any time of the day or night, in the convenience of your own home! Playing online bingo is a super way to have fun playing the game you love whenever you want!

  • Author: Jacquiline Barge

Bingo UK – Bingo The New Craze. Online gaming is everywhere. People play hours at a time and win and lose much money. When you think of online gaming, the first games that come to mind is probably poker. With the recent popularity of poker, especially Texas Holdem, many people want in on the action. However, poker is not the only game you\’ll find played widely online. Bingo has become the thing to play, especially in the UK where Bingo UK is the new craze.

Growing up I always associated Bingo with my grandmother and the Jewish Community Center. I assumed most people of my generation make that same association. However, I recently found out Bingo has taken on a whole new life. Online Bingo is incredibly popular and widely played by people off all ages.

In fact, the amount of sites dedicated to Bingo online is quite overwhelming. Luckily, you can visit directories or hubs that are sites dedicated to listing and reviews places to play Bingo. A popular UK hub is whichbingo.co.uk. It lists just about every Bingo site there is, gives reviews and features sites regularly. They have free offers as well and run competitions regularly. You can visit this site and find more than you need to get started playing Bingo online.

A little background and explanation of Bingo is helpful. I won\’t go into to much detail but there are two main games. The one played most often in the UK is 90 ball Bingo. 90 ball uses cards laid out in three rows that have nine columns each. The rows are made up of five squares each with a number from 1 to 90. There is no free square and the remaining squares are blank.

90 ball bingo is the popular UK version. The difference is that in 90 ball, the cards are in three rows with nine columns. Each row has five squares containing number ranging from 1 to 90. The other squares are blank with no free square.

What makes online bingo even more popular now is the availability of No Deposit Bingo or free Bingo. This is the new craze and is an incredibly searched for favorite. There are also site directories for this, one of which is simply nodepositbingo.com. Its popularity may stem from the fact that it actually offers quite a cash flow to players. That may seem contradictory but you can play it free or if you choose to deposit money, the cash prizes are available to you.

There are plenty of other reasons to play free Bingo. It is 24 hours 7 days a week live. There is the option to chat so it is quite a social environment. The jackpots are big and they have bonus rounds as well. They try to cater to every age group and every genre of player.

So go online and start playing. Some sites you can check out besides the ones mentioned about are Mecca Bingo, Bingo Wags and Eat Sleep Bingo among many others. But, be careful, it can be addicting. Play free Bingo first and then get into the money games if you dare. I guarantee you\’ll have fun and you won\’t have to make conversation with a bunch of grandma\’s – not that that is a bad thing.

Playing entertaining online bingo games doesn\’t have to cost money at all. Playing bingo in the uk gives one many choices for this type of game. You also will find that there are free bingo games, which means no payments to make.

Why Online Bingo Has Become So Popular?

  • Author: admin

  • Date: Jan 16,2010

Online Bingo was a relatively minor industry as recently as the year 2000. In the last six years, electronic bingo has seen an explosion of popularity. The world’s growing familiarity with the internet is one explanation for the game’s online proliferation. But there are several more specific reasons why a greater number of people every year stay home from the bingo hall and play the game from the comfort of their own homes.

1. The improvements in technology : When interet Bingo first got started, the experience couldn’t match what you found in the bingo hall. People preferred the sights and sounds of real world bingo to simply having a bingo number pop up on the screen.

The online experience has changed. These days, most sites have a voice actor to mimic the bingo callers you’ll find in live action settings. These sites tend to have flashy graphics and sounds of the bingo hall, which are meant to enhance your experience. But what makes contemporary online bingo so entertaining is the various interactions with your fellow players.

2. The camaraderie:  You might think playing online wouldn’t be a social experience. Actually, it’s quite the opposite. Online bingo sites have Chat Rooms which mimic the table talk found in bingo halls.

Most sites offer a variety of chat rooms. The choices are divided into specific subjects, from the state of bingo gaming to current events. If you prefer, you can enter age-specific chat rooms. Friendships can form with people you would never have met otherwise.

You can play bingo while chatting with players from all over the world. You can make friends from Japan, Hungary or Eritrea. I mention the last country, because I met a friend from there in an online Bingo hall. I’d never heard of such a country before. The people you meet playing Bingo online are the type you’ll meet in a live bingo parlour. They tend to be friendly and talkative and share a love of the laid-back bingo camaraderie.

On the rare occasion that isn’t the case, chat rooms are moderated by employees of the online bingo sites. This assures that the bingo players stay in line.

3. The convenience: It might be hard to get to the bingo parlour these days, due to job, family or health considerations. Online bingo is convenient for those players who don’t have the night in the week for live bingo games.

Online bingo rooms are open 24 hours per day. You can play for a quarter of an hour or all night long, depending on your gaming needs. If getting a babysitter is too much trouble, simply wait until the kids go to bed and go online. If the weather conditions are bad, stay at home and play on the computer.

4. The comfort of home: If there is something about the local bingo parlour you don’t like, just stay at home in your comfort zone. If you don’t like cigarette smoke, that won’t be a problem in your den or bed room. If you try to avoid places liquor is served, stay at home and away from temptation.

And, of course, if you want to play bingo, but don’t want the hassle of a talkative neighbor, you can play in solitude. The online experience lets each person control his or her gaming preferences. You are master of the situation.

5. Selection: Online Bingo is a highly competitive business. There are literally hundreds of sites on the internet. They are competing for customers, so the online parlours are willing to give compensations and perks you won’t get at your local bingo hall. So if you want to shop for the best deal in bingo, it is likely you will find that deal on the worldwide web and not down the street at the only bingo game in town.

Online Bingo Rising in Popularity

  • Author: Jon Jackson
  • Date: Dec 24,2009

Bingo is one of the most popular games to play online. Its appeal lies in the fact it is very easy to learn, and gives everyone the same chance of winning. Essentially, the game of bingo is based on random chance, with each participant being given a randomly-generated game card.

On this card are printed a series of numbers, usually in the range from 1 – 90. Then a piece of number-generating software is brought into play to choose numbers at random. Once these numbers have been chosen, the player marks them off on their own gamecard.

The object of the game is to be the first to mark off all of the numbers – thus winning a full “house”. At this point, the player will win the jackpot – or a share of the jackpot if there is more than 1 winner. Some of these jackpots can be quite high, especially if they have been “rolling” or accumulating over time.

The reason there can be more than 1 winner is the same for that of a lottery. Because the game cards are printed and distributed randomly, it’s quite possible that more than 1 game card will contain the right numbers that have been chosen, in the same manner as for a lottery game.

The difference is, though, in bingo you don’t have to get the numbers exactly as drawn. This is because the principle behind the game is that any 15 numbers from 90 are the ones that will win. When the numbers are chosen, then, it’s actually possible for there to be 89 numbers drawn with no winners until the 90th and final one.

Just to explain this further, if you imagine there are 90 possible numbers to be drawn. Then each game card has a random sequence from 1-90 printed on it. It could feasibly happen that the 15th number that everyone is after to complete their card is the last one to be drawn.

Obviously for this to happen, each player will have had to cross off different numbers – that is, a different set of 14 numbers – from the 89 that have been drawn. While this may seem a bit complex to think about, it makes sense from a mathematical viewpoint.

Now, I’m not suggesting that people play bingo because they’re interested in this type of mathematical reasoning, but the effect of this theory is one of the joys of bingo – that everyone has an equal chance of winning right up to the final number being called.
